Helton Falls

Sometimes I find these little springs more interesting than the waterfalls

As this is what you will see if you visit, the pictures that follow are all bits of creative editing.

According to my GPS tool, I spent a total of 17 minutes at Helton Falls. That time includes the “hike” in and out so I figure I spent a total of about 5 minutes actually at the falls. There is no fee to park at Helton Falls and it’s not monitored by the Rangers very often, so people come here not to admire the waterfall but to play in it. And more power to them as they were clearly all having a really good time. For me though the place was akin to a public pool and I wanted OUT!

My advice is to come early on a Tuesday in the winter, which I might try someday. Seriously though, Desoto Falls is practically across the street, go there.
